We know you’ve heard of the Mazda CX-3 and the Mazda CX-5, but have you heard of the new in-between SUV dubbed the Mazda CX-30? As your local Mazda dealers, it’s our job to keep you up to date on current brand information, so we’re glad to tell you all about this new SUV model.
While the obvious name choice probably would’ve been the CX-4, that name just wouldn’t do this sleek and bold crossover SUV justice. Its moderate size is going to be perfect for a variety of drivers — from first time car buyers to growing families. It’s expected to come in both front-wheel and all-wheel-drive options.
If you like the sound of the most recent Mazda3 with its SKYACTIV® TECHNOLOGY underpinnings, we think you’ll enjoy the Mazda CX-30. It will have a similar interior, with the premium-look, comfortable seats, and generous standard and available tech that already accompanies the Mazda3. The major differences will be in its size, height, and cargo volume.
Experts are guessing this model will likely come with the 2.0-liter naturally aspirated SKYACTIV®-G inline-four engine with a six-speed SKYACTIV®-Drive transmission, but that information has yet to be confirmed by our automakers. If it’s indeed the same engine as the Mazda3, you can expect horsepower somewhere near 186. And of course we’d love to see the SKYACTIV®-X engine as an option for more torque and efficiency.
