As your local Mazda dealership, it’s our job to keep you up to date on the new and exciting things our brand is doing. When it comes to the racing aspect of Mazda, we’ve taken on our third win in a row after a “clean and green” race at the Road America round of the 2019 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in the Wisconsin countryside.

Mazda cars have a strong history of racing success, sport designs, and performance that is hard to compare to any other brand. As such, Mazda engineers and racers are constantly pushing the envelope to improve our brand and take home more wins on the track. Recently, Jonathan Bomarito and Harry Tincknell took home a third win in a row in a Mazda car, beating out their closest competitor (the Penske Acura) by only .227 seconds.

According to, the race went for the entire scheduled two hours and forty minutes without any full course yellows, and the weather was simply perfect for it – upper 80s and no rain. The winning car covered 83 laps (335.984 miles) in the allotted time. In addition to first, the third place spot also went to a Mazda vehicle in this recent race.

According to Mazda driver Jonathan Bomarito: “It was just a flat out race, no cautions. It was managing traffic, managing rear tire wear, managing fuel numbers. And pushing like crazy the whole time trying to keep pace with Penske, build gaps in traffic.”
